AUBURN – Auburn teens will start Rockin ‘n Readin’ at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 23, at the Auburn Public Library, when it launches it first summer reading program for teens.

Rock ‘n Read 2003 will get in gear with Karaoke Night outside on the green next to the library. It promises to be a night of laughs, hanging out with friends and singing.

There will be food and door prizes for the best and the worst performances and everything in between.

Those attending can sign up for the Rock ‘n Read 2003 summer reading program. All they need do to participate is let library staff know what they are reading during the summer. Read enough and receive a fun pack that includes coupons and prizes.

Kids who Rock ‘n Read all summer will join in on other events like Pizza and Pages Swap from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday. Cull through book/CD/DVD collections to swap with other teens who show up that night. Swap or not, get a few free slices of pizza, too.

Finally, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, wrap up the summer with It’s a Wrap: A Night of Performance. Participants will share art, an acoustic song, short story or poem.
