LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine announces a variety of programs this summer at its East Avenue facility.
On Fridays beginning June 27, the YWCA invites the community to take part in a special swim being offered during summer called Summertime Splash from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for $1 a person. This is an opportunity for local residents to try the YWCA’s sunlit, six-lane community pool.
Kids Fit class is designed to introduce children to water fitness in a fun and enjoyable way. The class will teach children about their muscles and why it is important to eat healthy. Children must be between the ages of 7 and 12 years and at least 4 feet tall. Classes will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 24 to Aug. 7.
Summer swim lesson registration is under way. Lessons will begin Monday, June 23 for children 6 months to 15 years and will run for eight weeks. Private lessons for infants to adults are also available by appointment.
A variety of open swims and water fitness classes are being offered at many times throughout the week. For a complete schedule visit www.ywcamaine.org, call 795-4050 or visit the facility.
