WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – Russ Adams had three hits and three RBIs and Guillermo Quiroz hit a two-run home run to lead the New Haven Ravens to a 9-1 win over the Portland Sea Dogs on Friday night in the Eastern League.

New Haven (37-34) extended its season-high win streak to seven and moved within three games of the first-place Sea Dogs (38-29) in the Northern Division. Portland has lost four in a row.

Peter Bauer (4-4) scattered seven hits and one run over seven innings to earn the victory. John Ogiltree finished with two scoreless innings of relief.

Quiroz, who scored three runs, belted his team-high 12th homer in the second inning as the Ravens took a 3-0 lead. New Haven scored five more on five hits in the fifth, keyed by Adams’ two-run single. Gabe Gross had an RBI single and Griffin an RBI double in the inning. A throwing error allowed the Ravens to score the fifth run.

Josh Stevens (7-4) took the loss, allowing 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Jeremy Owens and Kevin Youkilis had two hits each while Justin Sherrod’s sacrifice fly in the fourth led to the Sea Dogs only run.
