The city of Auburn and the department that is responsible for mowing and trimming the parks and recreation area need a big fat push to clean the park at the corner of Main and Court streets and all the shrubbery they planted behind the Esplanade Senior Center.

I hope whoever goes to the new motel, now almost completed, will not see the shrubbery and grass growing 2- to 3-foot long along the chain link fence.

This department came one time all last year and never went up the hill to the lookout platform. It is really a disgrace.

The city put in trash barrels and does not bother to empty them. Stuff blows all over the place.

People have lunch in the small park on Court and Main and also sit on benches in back of the Esplanade to eat their lunches. What a sight to look at. You cannot walk by on the sidewalk because the shrubbery is too tall – never been trimmed.

Riverwalk is also neglected, which I see because I walk there across Railroad Bridge to Lewiston.

What a shame such beauty is so neglected.
