LEWISTON – In recognition of National Safety Month, the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce and Manpower are sponsoring a teleconference and expert panel presentation to provide local employers with information about workplace ergonomics.
Participants will gain insight into the increasingly important topic through conversations with national and local experts and examples of how leading companies promote safety while limiting expenses.
Balancing Ergonomic Safety and Cost Control will take place from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, in the Lepage Conference Center at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
The conference will feature a live teleconference with national occupational health experts. Program presenters Linda Wereley and Julie Nussbaum represent J.J. Keller & Associates, the nation’s leading supplier of safety and regulatory compliance solutions. As members of the workplace safety editorial team, they are adept at turning complex legislative and regulatory language into understandable, actionable items.
In addition to the live teleconference, the presentation will provide an opportunity for participants to hear from local occupational health experts. Representatives from several area health services will be present to answer questions and provide insights on ergonomic safety and cost control methods.
The local panel will bring experts from Central Occupational Health, Occupational Health and Rehabilitation and WorkMed Occupational Health Services together to provide local business with low- or no-cost solutions that can improve workplace ergonomics immediately.
