1950 – 2003

LEWISTON – Ronald Kenneth “Ron” Hunter, 52, of Mile Hill Road, New Sharon, died Thursday morning, June 19, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 19, 1950, in Boston, Mass., the son of Kenneth W. and Eleanor Carol (Lovett) Hunter. He received his education in Hampton, NH, schools and attended Tufts University where he studied engineering and music.

He was a self-employed carpenter and an accomplished woodworker. A talented musician, “Ron” played trumpet in the UMF Orchestra and supported his daughters in their musical pursuits by his involvement in the Mt. Blue Music Boosters.

He believed strongly in fraternal organizations and was a member of the Masons. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, boating, fishing and nature photography. He also had a keen interest in geneology.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Hunter and Amy Hunter both of New Sharon; his former wife and friend, Alice Kalajian Hunter; two aunts; two cousins; the Cook family of Strong; and many friends.

He was predeceased by his dad in 1951; and his mom in 2001.
