WASHINGTON – Jerry Lachappelle, a native of Monmouth, is project manager of renovations at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
The renovations are designed to improve the building’s bioterrorism defense research and diagnosis capabilities in addition to upgrading laboratory facilities. With the new monitoring station, security guards will be able to speak with D.C. and Maryland police and other local law enforcement agencies. The project is expected to cost $42 million.
Lachappelle is a graduate of Monmouth Academy class 1983 and Wentworth Institute of Boston class of 1987.
He lives in Maryland with his wife, Kelly, and their two sons.
