TURNER – Two classes have been added to the summer schedule of SAD 52 River Valley Adult and Community Education.
The first is a summer track, field and cross country camp. This is for students ages 10 to 15 and will be held at the Leavitt Area High School track the week of July 7 to 12 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The camp is coached by Bruce Jon Bell and Tom Menendez who have more than 70 years of coaching and competition experience.
The camp will cover all track and field events, all aspects of cross country running, physical and mental training, and other great training tools. Plus proper nutritional eating formats including the preparation of foods. Attention is given to individual and technical developments.
The second class is Standard First Air/CPR instructed by Jim Duncan. This two-week class will be held Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. on July 23 and 30 at the Turner Adult Learning Center. The course will train participants on how to act in emergency situations, to recognize and care for life-threatening emergencies such as respiratory or cardiac problems, sudden illness or injuries. At the end of the course, participants will receive a one-year certification in CPR and a three-year certificate for community first aid and safety.
