After reading a letter which appeared on June 23 relating primarily to Oak Hill Cemetery, I take issue with certain negative remarks in that letter, especially references to the Riverwalk Park in Auburn.

My friend and I walk my two dogs along that beautiful path – almost daily and year round – weather permitting. We were also there during its construction phase to witness the hard work and effort that went into it.

Never have we felt threatened, intimidated or unsafe in that park. On the contrary, we have met many friendly and “decent” people (such as ourselves) along the way: joggers, “seniors,” workers, etc.

The scenic and natural beauty along this walkway is truly awesome. Many thanks to those who continue to work hard to maintain the park. Their efforts provide us, the “living,” with enormous pleasure and enjoyment.

As to the cemetery issue, I must say that the one I visit occasionally is also plagued with tall grass, weeds, etc., due mostly to excessive rain. Also included in that category is my own property.

However, if overgrown grass, weeds, etc., is the greatest of my complaints, I guess I am truly blessed.
