Strictly for the record, the writer of the Associated Press article on the recent celebration of Corpus Christi in Venezuela (June 21) had it exactly backwards: The purpose of this Catholic feast day is not to celebrate the change in substance of Christ’s body and blood into bread and wine in the Mass, but of bread and wine into his body and blood (Matt. 26:26-28).
