NORWAY – Summer Festival Director Anne Campbell said she’s looking for runners, movers, drivers, painters, distributors and bouncers.

Moon bouncer supervisors, that is, to help keep this town’s largest social event of the year running smoothly.

The Summer Festival will be held from July 11 to 13 on Main Street and feature about 80 artisans, food, music and diversions for the kids.

And volunteers are needed for everything.

The children will be able to spend time on the Moon Bounce, a large inflatable structure that lets kids bounce until they drop.

Deborah Wyman, who was revitalization coordinator last year, said she used about two dozen volunteers in 2002.

“People have dozens of questions. They want to know where to park, where they can get food and where the bathrooms are,” Wyman said. “We need volunteers. We need people going up and down the street being ambassadors for the festival.

“Without volunteers, there probably wouldn’t be a festival,” she said.

Campbell said there are numerous jobs for volunteers before, during and after the festival and opportunities for all ages. Volunteers will receive a festival T-shirt.

Anyone interested in volunteering may call the Norway Downtown Revitalization office at 739-2215.
