LEWISTON – The Timothy J. Mynahan Foundation announces the TJM Scholarship recipient for 2003. The $2,500 scholarship has been awarded to Ethyn Brodeur, a 2003 graduate of Lewiston High School.
Criteria for selection are based on academic and athletic excellence and commendable leadership ability.
Brodeur is a varsity athlete, participating in ice hockey and soccer. As captain of the varsity soccer team he displayed outstanding leadership ability on and off the field. He achieved All-State Honorable Mention status as a varsity soccer player as well as All-State East as varsity ice hockey goaltender.
Brodeur further distinguished himself by achieving academic excellence. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the recipient of a number of academic awards.
He has also demonstrated a strong sense of community involvement by logging numerous hours as a mentor for the Big Brothers program and serving as a volunteer for local youth athletic programs. His commitment, work ethic and community involvement earned him the honor of being selected as one of Lewiston’s 10 Shining Stars for 2002.
Brodeur will attend St. Michael’s College in Vermont in the fall. He is the son of Normand and Denise Brodeur of Lewiston.
