LEWISTON – Tyler Turgeon struck out seven batters to pick up a complete-game victory as Gayton Post edged Cole Farms 2-1 in Zone 3 American Legion baseball Tuesday evening.

Dustin Longchamps smacked a triple in the second inning for Gayton (3-5). Longchamps scored later on a groundout for the eventual winning run.

Shawn Sabine collected three singles and an RBI for Gayton, while Turgeon delivered two singles. Andy Crawford hit an RBI single in the seventh inning for Cole Farms (3-6).

Andy Valley 6, Poland 3

POLAND – Chad Schrepper ripped a three-run homer in the fifth inning to give Andy Valley the lead in a 6-3 Zone 3 win over Poland 6-3.

Dave Gilbert pitched a steady game for Andy Valley (4-5). Tim Dubois belted a three-run home run in the fifth inning for Poland (3-6). Mike Carpenter chipped in a double.

Bessey Motors 5, Locke Mills 1

SOUTH PARIS – Garrett Olson hit a two-run double in the second inning to lead Bessey Motors to a 5-1 Zone 3 win over Locke Mills.

Jeff Austin knocked in one run with a second-inning double, while Joe Baker doubled and Tyler Bryant hit a triple for Bessey Motors (5-4). Olson ended the game with two hits and three RBIs.

Baker recorded the win, while Mike Stacy notched the save. They combined on a five-hitter. Jerod Verrill hit a double in the second inning for Locke Mills (5-4).

Mid-Coast 7, New Auburn 3

AUBURN – Mark Rogers struck out 10 batters and smacked a two-run homer in the seventh inning en route to lift Mid-Coast to a 7-3 win over New Auburn.

John Tefft recorded two RBIs, Chad Doughty went 2-for-4 and Rogers also hit a double for Mid-Coast (7-1).

Nick Lawler who hit an RBI double in the first inning for New Auburn, which dropped its fourth straight game after a 5-0 start. Jay Verrill went 2-for-3 and scored two runs, while Craig Cormier also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
