1941 – 2003

ANDOVER – Richard Joseph Turcotte, 61, a resident of South Main Street, died unexpectedly early Tuesday, July 1, in his home at the Andover Guest House.

He was born in Rumford, July 19, 1941, the son of Emile R. and Jeanne M. Richard Turcotte and was educated in the schools of Fresno, Calif.

On Aug. 18, 2001 Mr. Turcotte married the former Sandra M. Clark in Andover. Mr. Turcotte was at present disabled but had been a welder out in California for various companies and had worked on floats for well known Califorina parades.

He has served as the Inn Keeper for the Andover Guest house for the last several years and was fondly known as “Peg Leg” having been a “Trail Angel” along the Appalachian trail.

He was a former motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed watching football and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his wife of Andover; mother of Ellenton, Fla.; two daughters, Nadine Romano of Oregon, and Shannon Avellanes of Covena, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Crystal Clark of Smithville, Ontario, Canada; one sister, Joanne Barrett of Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, Douglas Turcotte and his wife Magdalena of Newton, Mass.; and four grandchildren, Joey, Matthew, Jimmy and Christine Avellanes of Covena, Calif.
