PARIS – In recognition of National Trails Day on June 7, the Oxford Hills trail committee of Healthy Oxford Hills and Norway Recreation Department organized a trail clean up. Twenty-three volunteers worked on the nature trail that runs along the Little Androscoggin River behind the middle school.

The trail can be accessed at the Oxfored Hills Middle School from beside the field hockey field or from a trailhead behind the Congregational church in South Paris.

The group cut brush, picked-up garbage and raked the path. Flanders Electric went over to the trail the week before the clean up and took away several items that would have been too large for the volunteers to haul away.

The trail is located on or accessed from land owned by Oxford Hills Middle School, the Paris utility district and the Congregational church. They all allowed the group access to their property.
