LEWISTON – Sarah Fournier of Livermore Falls, Jared J. Cash and Ryan Shepard of Norway and Juyoung Shim of Auburn, formerly of Seogu Inchon, Korea, were named to the dean’s list at Bates College during the second semester.

To qualify, a student must maintain a better than “B+” average for the semester for a minimum quality point ratio of 3.6.

Fournier, a junior, is the daughter of Debra Fournier of Livermore Falls and Bruce Fournier of Florida. She is a 2000 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.

Cash, a junior political science major, is a member of the football team. He is the son of Donald and Janet Cash of Norway and is a 2000 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Shepard, a junior political science major, is a recipient of the Almon Cyrus Libby Award for his contribution to the Quimby Debate Council and the Claire E. Turner Award, presented to students who have demonstrated integrity in public debate. He was named a Dana Scholar in 2001 for excellence in academics and leadership. Shepard is the son of Maxine Burns of Norway and is a 2000 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Shim, a sophomore, was a 2002 Dana Scholar for excellence in academics and leadership. She resides with her husband, Changsu Lee, and her daughter, Hana Lee, in Auburn and is a 1989 graduate of Shinmyung Girls’ High, Korea.
