1922 – 2003
FARMINGTON – Beulah Ada Spaulding, 81, formerly of Avon and Strong, died Sunday night, July 6, at Edgewood Manor Rehabilitation and Living Center where she had been a resident for the past four years.
Born in Madison, May 4, 1922, the daughter of John and Anne (Knowlan) Gordon, she was educated in the schools of Madison, Flagstaff and Lexington.
She was a member of the Strong United Methodist Church and the Strong Church of the Nazarene, the Oppalunski Chapter O.E.S., Strong Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary and the Avon Mothers Club.
She was employed by Webber’s Store and Restaurant and Forsters Manufacturing for nearly 30 years, until ill health forced her retirement. She enjoyed being with people, especially children. She spent many hours playing cards with friends and family. Her home was always open for anyone who needed a place to stay.
Survivors include a daughter, Zelda Coffren of Milford N.H.; a son, Charlie Huff and his wife, Sharon of Jay; seven grandchildren, Julie, Sherry, Karen, Jeannie, Laurie, Charlie III and Betty; 11 great-grandchildren, Kevin, Joshua, Jessica, Alan, Brittany, Logan, Megan, Jack, Dylan, Ami and Trish; two brothers, John “Sonny” Gordon of Livermore and Larry Gordon of Strong; and a daughter-in-law, Joanne Huff of Farmington.
She was predeceased by husbands, Charlie Huff Sr. and Herbert Spaulding, stepson, Richard Huff, infant brother, Leo and brother, Lawrence Gordon and four sisters, Ethel Hanington, Viona Pinkham, Helena Huff and Emma “Noogie” Walker.
