1926 – 2003

LEWISTON – Gilberte Perron, 76, of 4 Sylvan Ave., Lewiston, died Monday, July 7, at the d’Youville Pavilion Nursing Home, following a long illness.

Born in Auburn on Sept. 11, 1926, she was the daughter of Aimee and Amanda Labonte Perron. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’43.

She was employed as an insurance agent for several local offices, including the Champoux-Bouvier and Dunlap agencies. An avid golfer for most of her life, she especially enjoyed playing at the Prospect Hill Golf Course in Auburn.

A member of Holy Cross Parish, she is survived by a brother, Roland Perron of Lewiston; four sisters, Cecile Gagnon of Lewiston, Madeleine and husband Paul Hebert of Auburn, Jeannine Guay of Santee, Calif., and Dorothy Perron of Lewiston; several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Alcide Perron of Georgia.
