1919 – 2003

LEWISTON – Gloria S. Parent, 84, of 30 Garcelon St., died Wednesday, July 9, at Marshwood Health Care Center where she resided for the past month.

Mrs. Parent was born in Baker Brook, P.Q., Canada, Feb. 13, 1919, daughter of the late Germain and Cecile Dube Saucier. She was educated in Canadian schools.

On Aug. 7, 1938, she married Omer R. Parent. Mrs. Parent was a member of Holy Family Parish.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years; three daughters, Claudette Tardif and husband Raymond of Englewood, Fla., Patricia Daley and husband Leonard of New Gloucester, and Cecilia Elliot and husband David of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; four sons, Omer Parent Jr. and wife Lorraine of Lewiston, Gerald Parent and wife Linda of Saratoga, NY, Norman Parent of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Raymond Parent and wife Joan of Port Charlotte, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucia Binette and Mrs. Philip (Regina) Carey both of Lewiston; a brother, Ted Saucier and wife of Presque Isle; and many nieces and nephews.
