1916 – 2003

LEWISTON – Marguerite M. Langlois, 87, formerly of 56 Webber Ave., Lewiston, died Tuesday, July 8, at the Marshwood Nursing Home following a long illness.

Born in Lewiston on April 15, 1916, she was the daughter of Philippe and Eva Gregoire Martel. Educated in local schools, she was married to Odias J. Langlois in 1947. He passed away on Jan. 12, 2001.

She was employed for many years in the local shoe industry, and in her later years worked part-time in the maintenance department of St. Mary’s Hospital. A member of Holy Cross Parish, she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and spending time at Old Orchard Beach.

Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Germaine Martel of Auburn, Eva Galipeau of Lewiston, and Rose-Anna Harlow of North Waldoboro; two brothers-in-law, Alfred Langlois and wife Yvette of St. Lambert, P.Q., Canada, and Roger Langlois and wife Therese of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Odias Langlois; and two brothers, Rosaire and Reginald Martel.
