WILTON – Lenny Hoover and Signworks of Farmington have painted Dale No. 3 for Loon Maine-ia 2003.

The loon sculpture is painted in remembrance of Dale Earnhardt and his No. 3 car resembles Earnhard with his reflective sunglasses and mustache. A Daytona race track shows No. 3 in the lead and the Goodwrench sign and Monte Carlo identify the car. Nascar Winston Cup Racing and automotive symbols let you know you’re in a man’s world. The Intimidator with colorful flames and checkered flag designates a first place winner.

Sponsors of this loon sculpture are: Mike Monahan @Signworks, Farmington Construction and Integrity Electric.

Dale No. 3 can be seen at Kineowatha Park on Wilson Lake. The park is open during the day and has good parking and a lodge.

Dale No. 3 was the first-place entry in the Farmington Fourth of July parade. The Loon Maine-ia loon art sculpture has been sported around town by Mike Monahan on top of his PT Cruiser for all to see and enjoy. For the remainder of July, the loon sculpture will be at Kineowatha Park and is number 14 on the Loon Walk Map which can be picked up at some store’s, library, Wilton Town Office and Farmington and Wilton Chamber of Commerce.

In August the loons will be removed to the Wilton Academy Hill School. They can be viewed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, and 9 a.m. until the auction at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, when Auctioneer Adrian Harris of Farmington will call to start the bidding.
