From the Angevine Park Development to the new fire station, selectmen will be busy.

BETHEL – Selectmen attending their board meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, July 14, should probably bring a lunch thanks to a municipal agenda loaded with topics.

In addition to discussing the Angevine Park Development and new $1.3 million fire station project, the board will field communications from:

• Town treasurer Nesta Littlefield on cemetery matters.

• The Chestnut Knoll Association on a road acceptance matter.

• The Planning Board regarding a June 26 Board of Appeals decision on a signage matter.

• The Maine Human Rights Commission regarding a complaint by developer Darlene Corriveau.

• The Maine Municipal Bond Bank regarding debt refinancing.

Under the Angevine Park Development, selectmen are slated to establish a schedule for solicitation of bids, a pre-bid conference, bid opening and contract excecution, then authorize execution of a separate contract for inspection services.

Concerning the fire station project, the board is slated to execute a deed to convey land to and accept land from the Opera House, consider an amendment to the project’s site plan review under the Planning Board, and authorize execution of contract for inspection service.

Other agenda items include:

• Discussions about the Taylor Smith Road Relocation Project and disposition of tax-acquired properties.

• Authorizing a waiver of competitive process in an airport paving project.

• Dissolving the 2003 Committee, which, in 1998, was tasked by selectmen with implementing Bethel’s Comprehensive Plan after town meeting voters approved it that year.

• Tackling the Employee Benefits Program again.

• Executing a deed to release a town-owned easement across the Don Bennett property in the vicinity of Bethel Regional Airport.

• Reporting on recent improvements to the town common fountain, which used to be a light aquamarine color until the town crew unwittingly applied a new, more resilient blue coating that altered the color drastically to a midnight blue-purplish hue.

The board is also scheduled to act upon appointments to the Board of Appeals and Ordinance Review Committee and may enter executive session to do so.
