1933 – 2003

Lewiston – Noel R. A. Caron, 69, of 8 Lincoln Terrace died Sunday, July 13, peacefully at Ste Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion after a long illness.

Born in Lewiston Dec. 21, 1933, he was the son of Florian and Bertha Ouellet Caron. He was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from St. Dominic’s High School in 1952. He worked as a Goodyear stitcher at Knapp Shoe Company for 35 years, and later worked as an operating room attendant at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish, and served as Eucharistic Minister. He was on the parish council at St. Mary’s Parish where he was a member for 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, Council 106, Lewiston, served as secretary of the board of directors at Aerotred Credit Union, and volunteered at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

His interests included photography, wood working, traveling, and music. He enjoyed being with family, friends and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, the former Claudette I. Meservier, of Lewiston, whom he married Sept. 24, 1955; two daughters, Monique Grenier and her husband Richard of Lewiston, and Joline Caron of Lewiston; four sons, Paul G. Caron and his companion Annette Bourque of Lewiston, Roger Caron and his wife Debra of Auburn, Robert Caron and his wife Tammy of Monmouth, and Dana Caron and his companion Michelle Mahon of Lewiston; nine grandchildren, Kathleen and Amanda Grenier, Jonathan Caron, Elisabeth, Rebecca, Brittany, Crystal, and Kiya Caron, and Samantha Reber; three sisters, Theresa Chouinard and her husband Raymond of Leeds, Fernande Cyr and her husband Robert of Auburn, and Irene Ott of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a brother, (Joseph) Remi Caron and his wife Eleanor of Omaha, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews.
