NORWICH, Conn. (AP) – Doug Clark had two hits and four RBIs as the Norwich Navigators beat the Portland Sea Dogs 8-1 Monday in the Eastern League.
Clark hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning and added an RBI single in the fourth.
Casey Fossum, pitching on a rehabilitation assignment with Portland, threw one inning of relief.
He allowed one run on two hits and a walk and struck out three.
Boof Bonser (5-9) got the win. He allowed one run on five hits, struck out a season-high nine batters and walked two.
Mike Cervenak had two hits, including an RBI single in the fourth. Pat Hallmark added a two-run double in the same inning as Norwich (42-51) took a 7-1 lead.
Chris Curry, John Pachot, Alejandro Freire, Clark and Hallmark each had two hits in the win.
Tim Kester (4-7) took the loss, allowing seven runs on nine hits in five innings. He walked two and struck out five.
Sean McGowan had three hits and Dustin Brisson had an RBI single for the Sea Dogs (48-43).
