I see that the “bad road” issue has surfaced, no pun intended, again in Auburn. David Harris Sr. of Danville wrote a nice letter in regard to the Station Road (July 10). And I might add, he made some great suggestions. Like phone calls and petitions. How silly. It’s amazing to me how he and so many other Auburn citizens don’t see the solution.

Right there, in their back yards, lay hundreds of acres of beautiful fields. Build a golf course. Within a short time, the long awaited and impossible miracle with come forth like manna from above. Those guys with laser transits, big trucks, flag guys/gals, bulldozers, pavers and all that will suddenly appear. People will marvel at the connection. They will finally see that the answers rest, not with the citizens but with the greens keeper and there will be joy in Muddville and maybe mighty Casey will get a hole in one.

If you doubt the wisdom of my logic, check with residents of Soper Mills Road and South Witham Road.
