PARIS – The annual Founder’s Day Celebration will be held rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Paris Hill Commons at the top of the hill next to the First Baptist Church. Included will be the Robert Bahre antique and classic car collection for viewing for a fee of $8 for adults, and $2 for ages 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the Hamlin Memorial Library that used to be the old jail. This event will also include crafts, food, wagon tour of the village and more.
New Moosepath book
OXFORD – Maine author Van Reid will be signing copies of his new book, “Mrs. Roberto or the Widowy Worries of the Moosepath League,” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Books-n-Things in the Oxford Shopping Plaza on Route 26. Agricultural Society
OXFORD – The Oxford County Agricultural Society will hold its annual membership meeting at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the Oxford County Fairgrounds on the Pottle Road. Anyone living in Oxford County and the towns of Poland, McFalls, Turner and Livermore can become a member. Major improvements are going to require more volunteers. Talent guide
PARIS – The Western Oxford Foothills Cultural Council unveiled the first edition of its 40-page print directory during the Norway Summer Festival. The guide is intended to be a cultural resource for schools, libraries, historical societies, chambers and all types of cultural groups as well as individuals. The guide is accompanied by history and folklore and exposure of the creative talent that lives in the western Oxford Hills region. Readers will get contact and descriptive information of over 200 culturally related individuals and organizations. Copies are available at the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce office for $2. Supplies are limited.
