PARIS – Tyler Goodspeed, grandson of Arthur and Doris Field of South Paris and the late Charles and Edith Goodspeed of Norway, graduated with highest honors from Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H. on June 8.

Goodspeed, who graduated in the top five in his class, was early cum laude and a national merit finalist. At graduation he received the Cox Medal and the Hubert E. Teschemacher, 1874, Endowed Merit Scholarship for each of his four years at Harvard.

In addition to numerous academic awards and the Harvard Book Prize, he was elected student body president, cross country captain, and most valuable player in spring track and field. As a distance runner, Goodspeed made the academy’s hall of fame for three events and qualified for the nationals in the 4 x 8 relay. He also served as concert master for the band, playing first seat, first clarinet and was a library proctor.

Before attending Harvard this fall, Goodspeed will be interning at the Pioneer Institute in Boston. At Harvard, he intends to pursue economics and to continue his running career. He is the son Ron and Donna Goodspeed of Exeter.
