PERU – Selectmen have sent letters to four property owners in Peru notifying them that Aug. 1 will be the deadline on paying back taxes before the property will be auctioned.

Town Clerk Vera Parent said several more taxpayers have made payments on their taxes, but that these four have not contacted the town.

Families in Crisis has not responded to the Selectmen’s request for verification of insurance for using Rockemeka Hall and the deadline for this request is July 21.

Selectman Jim Pulsifer said that he is also concerned about how the cost of operating the hall is going over budget due to use.

Road Commissioner David Gammon reported that he is nearly finished on Ridge Road and plans to seed this week. He also requests a workshop dealing with the Disaster Mitigation Plan in the next few weeks.

Building permits were approved for Learned Littlehale Jr. to add a pitched roof to a portion of the house and to replace an existing enclosed porch, Joe Cayer for a mobile home and John Thompson for an office trailer.

Bill Hine will have a Comprehensive Committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, in the Town Office to talk about Pine Tree Zones.

The site evaluator for the septic system replacements will view the four properties tomorrow that will receive grant money.

Pulsifer motioned to have the code enforcement officer and plumbing inspector review Murray’s Cove Campground.

Selectmen approved the Maine Forest Pro Rally to be held from 7-9 p.m. Aug. 1 on Concord Pond Road.
