1932 – 2003

WOODSTOCK – Ashley Colby Allen, 71, of Tuelltown Road, West Paris, died July 18.

He was born in West Paris, June 15, 1932, the son of Arthur and Mildred (Rowe) Allen and was educated in local schools. He worked as a woodsman most of his life and was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion.

He was a born again Christian since 1965, loved his family, was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing and working in the woods.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Drake) Allen of West Paris; one son, Dennis Allen and his wife Diane of West Paris; two daughters, Barbara Keach and her husband Bill of West Paris and Dawnetta Hodgkins and her husband Victor of South Paris; one brother, Chester Allen and his wife Emily of Richmond; two sisters, Irene Richardson of Oxford and Ethel Cross of Sterling, Alaska; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was predeceased by a brother, Albert Allen; and two sisters, Ida Allen and Laura Andrews.
