FARMINGTON – Becky Bell has been appointed day surgery nurse manager at Franklin Memorial Hospital, according to Jill Berry Bowen, the hospital’s chief operating officer.

In her new position, Bell will uphold a leadership and management role, yet continue to work clinically with patients. She will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the unit including staffing, budgeting, staff development and supervision.

“I look forward to fostering a customer-centered approach to ambulatory services and our goal of exceeding customers’ expectations,” Bell said. “Our patients will be pleased when we move into our new Ambulatory Surgical Center, which will offer patients greater convenience and privacy.”

Bell noted, “This move will offer those who are here for endoscopies and same-day surgery their own dedicated entrance and one-stop pre-admission testing area. “The new center is welcoming, bright and airy, and features a family waiting room with a play area for children.”

Bell said that more than two-thirds of surgeries and procedures at Franklin Memorial Hospital are now performed on a “same-day” basis.

Bell received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Southern Maine. She has 12 years of extensive nursing experience caring for patients, and has held a variety of clinical roles since joining Franklin Memorial in 1998. She also recently served as the Employee Campaign co-chair for the Hospital’s “Protecting our Health” capital campaign.

Bell lives in Weld with her husband, John, young son, Riley, and numerous pets, including four dogs, three cats, seven fish and a rabbit.

Bell says she loves living in Weld, where she can enjoy outdoor activities, including fly fishing, water skiing, hiking, kayaking and cross-country skiing during her spare time.
