WASHINGTON — Cianbro President and CEO Peter G. Vigue has been elected chairman of the Construction Industry Round Table. It is a national business trade association of approximately 100 CEO’s from the leading architectural, engineering and construction companies in the U.S.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve the design/construction community,” said Vigue. “These are challenging times, which make the teamwork and commitment of our membership to the betterment of this industry, and its positive impact on the quality of life for every American citizen, even more important.”
During this time when policy decisions are affecting issues of war and peace as well as economic prosperity, Vigue’s first responsibility as chairman was to preside over the organization’s spring conference in Washington.
“Attendance was unprecedented,” said Vigue. “Our members heard and learned from headliner speakers including Special Assistant to the President Karl Rove; Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy Richard H. Clarida; DOT Chief of Staff John Flaherty; Deputy Secretary of the Department of Labor Cameron Findlay and Assistant Attorney General Viet Dinh as well as other congressional and agency officials.”
The conference provided the design and construction industry leaders with an opportunity of provide feedback and comment on public policy affecting the business environment in which their firms must operate.
The round table support for its members includes actively representing the industry on public policy issues and providing a forum for enhancing and developing strong management approaches.
