The only tournament in Maine to combine two golf courses will tee off Sept. 20 and 21 at the Norway and the Paris Hill Country Clubs.

Each participant will play 18 holes at both country clubs in the 17th Annual Golf Classic, presented by Northeast Bank.

John Williams, executive director of the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce, said, “This is a tradition in the Oxford Hills that accomplishes two important goals. First, it is the largest fund-raiser of the year for the Chamber of Commerce, and it also provides golfers with two days of relaxed competition in the panoramic setting of the western foothills of Maine. We have players who have been coming to this tournament for over 15 years, from as far away as New Jersey!”

The format for the Chamber tournament is a “Shot-Gun Scramble,” enabling golfers of every level to play, while still having a good chance to win team and individual trophies, a new Buick, golf trips, equipment and great raffle prizes at the awards banquet.

The Chamber is now accepting registrations for teams of four on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of 36 total teams. Starting times will be at 8 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at both Norway and Paris Hill. The registration fee is still just $75 per person, or $300 per team and that includes both days of golf plus the awards banquet to be held at Paris Hill Country Club.

Call the Chamber office at 743-2281 for an official registration sheet, or stop by the office at 213 Main St. in South Paris.
