LEWISTON – Family physician Diane M. MacKinnon has joined Central Maine Family Practice, a clinical division of Central Maine Medical Center.

Before joining Central Maine Family Practice, MacKinnon had practiced for three years with Family Health Care Associates in Auburn, a group physician practice.

A graduate of Providence College in Providence, R.I., she earned her medical degree at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn College of Medicine in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she received numerous academic awards.

She completed a residency in family practice in Central Maine Medical Center’s Family Practice Residency Program.

MacKinnon previously worked as a medical editor at the New York Orthopedic Hospital Research Laboratory in New York City, and as a research assistant at Children’s Hospital in Boston.

She is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the Maine Medical Association and the American Society of Colposcopists and Cervical Pathologists.

MacKinnon is a volunteer with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Androscoggin County.

Central Maine Family Practice is a group practice also comprised of Trisha A. Gushue, D.O., J. Scott Patch, M.D., Susan A. Thomas, M.D., Peggy Wyman, M.D., and family nurse practitioners Tracy Creaser and Elizabeth Byard. The group provides a full range of family health-care services to both children and adults. Its offices are in Suite 302 at the 12 High St. medical office complex.
