LEWISTON – United Soccer Academy will be held July 28 to August 1 at Franklin Complex next to Lewiston High School.

Registration for all players will be held between 8:30-9 a.m. on Monday, July 28. New applicants are welcome to register. Anyone needed an application prior to that date can obtain one in the main office at Lewiston High School or by calling Mike McGraw at 782-4339.

Drew wins race

STANDISH – David Drew of Litchfield took top honors in the Raymond Founder’s Day 10K Road Race held last month. Timothy Cutis of Raymond finished second in the 5K. Top 3 finishers in the 1M Kids Fun Run were: Kristen Adams, Standish; Robbie Blair, Raymond; Jereck Blais, Raymond.

Apple Valley bows

FARMINGTON – Portland defeated District 5 champ Apple Valley 11-0 in 6 innings in the State Babe Ruth Tournament. The only hits for AV were a double by Scott Ogden and singles by Wally Rines and Sean Holbrook.
