BOWDOIN (AP) – Police on Sunday identified a teenager who was killed during a trip to a roller-skating rink when he lost control of his car.

Keith Perron, 16, of Bowdoin, was driving south on Litchfield Road Friday when his 1992 Saab veered out of control, said Dep. Ian Alexander of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the car flipped and exited the left side of the road, where it hit a tree, Alexander said.

The crash appears to have been caused by speed and driver inexperience, the deputy said.

The police investigation was almost finished by Sunday.
