The Community Service Award is given to one person each year.

AUBURN – Each year since 1993 Advocates for Children has presented one individual with the Community Service Award for contributions to the prevention of child abuse and neglect in the community.

The recipient can demonstrate a commitment through their employment and/or volunteering. Last year’s recipients were Sue and Tom Poulin. Tom is the Auburn School Departments “Officer Friendly” and Sue is a marketing/sales correspondent for Gates Formed-Fibre.

Those who know of someone in the fields of education, treatment or prevention who has worked to reduce child abuse and neglect in Androscoggin County are asked to submit the name. The recipient will be recognized at an awards ceremony at the annual meeting in November.

To nominate someone, request a nomination form by calling 783-3990 or e-mail to [email protected] or nominate online at www.advocatesforchildren.net. Send entries to Advocates for Children, Community Service Award, P.O. Box 3316, Auburn, ME 04212-3316.

The deadline is Friday, Sept. 19.
