BETHEL – At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, in the town office, the Planning Board will conduct two public hearings.

The first concerns a site plan amendment for David Lane’s Chosun Restaurant on Main Street. The second deals with a subdivision/site plan application for Scott Stone’s 45 Mill Hill Road Condominiums, a residential tri-plex.

Planners will follow the hearing at 7 p.m. with a regular business meeting, discussing communications from the Mahoosuc Land Trust regarding Sunset Hill and a Land Use Law update.

Old business items include:

• A site plan application for a proposed new $1.3 million Bethel Fire Station by architect James Reuter and the town.

• Lane’s site plan amendment for his Chosun Restaurant.

• A subdivision plan amendment for applicant Robert Blake’s Pine Haven Subdivision at Pine Haven Lane and Intervale Road.

• Stone’s residential tri-plex project.

New business includes a site plan application for Scott and Jenna Smith’s Stone Mountain Mortgage Building on Main Street. Other items are discussions about the newly-formed Ordinance Review Committee’s priorities, a letter to selectmen on a Board of Appeals decision, a Human Rights Commission decision, and a subdivision application checklist.

Planners are also slated to reconsider a sign application for Michael Loin and Bertin Engineering Associates’ Shell station.

At the July 9 Planning Board meeting, planners unanimously approved Loin’s sign application for a free-standing sign and a canopy sign. Planners also unanimously waived the Bethel Sign Ordinance’s height and square footage requirement for the free-standing sign.
