RUMFORD – James A. Wing, 42, of Dixfield, died unexpectedly Monday, July 21, at the Rumford Hospital. A resident of the area all his life, he had resided on Coburn Avenue, Dixfield.
He was born in Rumford, on May 15, 1961, a son of Earl “Buddy” Merchant and Lucy A. (Wing) Edwards, and had attended Rumford schools.
He was formerly employed at the Andover Wood Products in the planing department. He also drove for the Med Care Ambulance Service. He was a member of the Dixfield Fire Dept. Call Force and occasionally worked for Arthur White of Peru.
He was formerly married to Diane O’Leary of Rumford. He was married in Dixfield, on Oct. 9, 1999 to Becky S. Braley who survives of Dixfield.
Other survivors include his father, Mr. Earl “Buddy” Merchant and his wife Sally of Mexico; stepfather, John Edwards Sr. of Rumford; two daughters Stephanie and Shannon Wing of Rumford; a stepdaughter, Tabitha Jones of Mexico; a stepson, Richard Jones Jr. of Cape Coral, Fla.; three stepgrandchildren, MacKenzie Jones of Rumford, Nevan Jones of Cape Coral, Fla., and Morgan Daoust of Mexico; a sister, Andrea Wing of Rumford; two stepsisters, Sarah O’Leary and husband Jamie of Mexico and Brenda Brooks and husband Henry of Bryant Pond; three stepbrothers, Ronnie Edwards of Milton Plantation, John and Michael Edwards both of Rumford.
