I’m writing to express my utter disgust at the public statements of Democrat Senators, specifically Ted Kennedy and John Kerry, concerning our combat losses in Iraq. To use the deaths of brave American soldiers at the hands of Iraqi thugs and cowards as a political wedge to weaken the will of the United States citizens is vile.
The United States is at war. The war started on Sept. 11, 2001. More than three thousand Americans died in Washington, New York and Pennsylvania.
President Bush has a duty, under his oath of office, to protect American citizens. He is facing an enemy that is ruthless, has no regard for human life and has vowed to kill as many Americans as possible.
Iraq was not a war. It was a theater of a worldwide war. On Sept. 11, the theater was over American soil. It then moved to Afghanistan and on to Iraq. The war has just started.
We must not lose perspective. Our world is a dangerous place filled with people who hate all Americans. The liberal Democrats, thirsting for a takeover of the presidency, are trying to dupe America into thinking that we are in a post-war quagmire.
The truth is that President Bush, our American military and our state and municipal governments are fighting a terrible, active war to preserve lives from enemies, foreign and domestic.
Moms, dads, sons and daughters plummeted from the World Trade Center that awful day. Remember them often, particularly when Kennedy and Kerry rant.
