WILTON – An arts and craft show and sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Wilton Academy Hill School.
The Loon Maine-ia auction of huge loon sculptures, painted by Maine artists, will begin at 2 p.m. with Adrian Harris as auctioneer.
Some of the participants are Upcountry Artists. Hannah Upham of Farmington will have fused glass jewlery and hand-painted blueberry fused glass work. Upham is an art teacher and has painted a Loon Maine-ia sculpture that she has titled “Kandinsky.”
Janet Kennedy will have Nordi spirit fleece outerwear clothing and other fabrics such as berber, leather and tapestries available. Kennedy’s shop, Imelda, is located on the McCrillis Corner Road.
Barbara Hathaway, Loon Maine-ia coordinator, will have loon art, stationery and watercolor paintings. Barry Hathaway Jr., Web master for Loon Maine-ia and owner of Juniors Mall, will have gifts and collectibles, featuring Celebrate America, country decor, candles and glass creations.
The Loon Maine-ia auction will get under way at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, when Adrian Harris, auctioneer, will begin the bidding. Bidders who can not attend may enter a bid by calling Harris’s office at 779-9000.
The loon sculptures will be on view at the Wilton Academy Hill School during the arts and crafts show.
