1924 – 2003

NEW SHARON – Hazel Marie Harris, 78, of New Sharon died Friday, July 25, at her home.

Born in Massachusetts, Nov. 30, 1924, the daughter of Harold and Nellie (Graham) Townsend, she was educated in the schools of Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

She married Odin Harris on Sept. 26, 1946 in Farmington. She worked at Bass Shoe and also at the New Sharon Motel.

She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crossword puzzles and loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years; a daughter, Paulette Haley of Winslow; three granddaughters, Kimberly Haley, Shauna Corson and Crissie Olson; and a great-granddaughter, Trinity Haley.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Archie Townsend; and a son-in-law, David Haley.
