MECHANIC FALLS – The Apostolic Fellowship Campmeeting 2003 will be held from Tuesday, July 29, through Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Advent Christian Campground, Route 121. Daily services will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. All are welcome.
Need artists
FREEPORT – The Freeport Merchants Association is looking for a few more artists to round out a roster of 75 participants from throughout New England at the fifth annual Fall in the Village Art Festival.
The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, in the L.L. Bean Discovery Park. For more information or an application, call the Freeport Merchants Association at 865-1212.
Seniors meeting
AUBURN – First Auburn Seniors will meet Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Hasty Community Center, Pettengill Park. The board of directors will convene at 10 a.m. and the regular meeting will start at 11 with President Betty Hebert presiding.
There will be a raffle table and a pot of gold drawing. Tickets will be on sale for the Tot Lot cookout on Aug. 20. Payment of $55 will be collected for the Wentworth by the Sea trip. A bag lunch and bingo will follow the meeting.
On Monday, Aug. 4, members will travel to Fairpoint in Raymond for an all-day outing with swimming, games and a noon meal.
On July 16 members had a chicken barbecue luncheon prepared by George Brainerd, Guy Donahue, Buzz Edwards, Dick Brushwein, Don Fyfe, Bill Redmun, Andre Giasson and Ray Cyr. Attendance winners were Libby Pugsley and Evelyn Rose. Pot of gold winners were Alice White, Libby Pugsley and Grace McDaniel.
Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on July 22 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, David Lock and Martine Begert; second, Luke Merry and Nick Karamessinis; third, Fred Letourneau and Rosemarie Goodwin; fourth, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau; fifth, Nancy Lindgren and Rolande Poulin.
Flight B winners were: first, Roger Briggs and Lucille Bilodeau; second, Bill Adams and Jim Flanagan; tied at third, Larry Holmes and Rowena Palmer with Joann Morris and Marta Clements.
Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, at the center. A partner is guaranteed.
The club also met on July 23 at Schooner Estates. North/South winners in Flight A were: first, Martine Begert and Lucille Theriault; second, Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Ray Sirois and John Hackett. Flight B winners were Larry Fortier and Terry Gendron.
East/West winners in Flight A were: Mike Quinn and Fred Letourneau; second, Jim Flanagan and Bill Adams; third, Leslie Buzzell and Pat Quinn. Winners in Flight B were Jim Flanagan and Bill Adams
