READFIELD – Paul Criss, maintenance director for the Maranacook Community School District, has recently received his building operator certification from the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships in Lexington, Mass. This certificate, awarded after completing an eight-part course of study, indicates Criss’ skill in resource-efficient building operations and maintenance.

In congratulating Criss, superintendent Rich Abramson said, “We are so fortunate to have a person on staff with the knowledge and abilities that Paul Criss brings to his job in the school district. The continued efficient operation and maintenance of our school buildings and equipment is directly related to the skills and understanding Paul demonstrates every day. Earning this certificate shows Paul’s continued commitment to energy savings within the schools and promotion of indoor air quality for our students and staff. We certainly commend him for his initiative and achievement in earning this certificate.”

The certification program provides training in the operation and maintenance practices that impact the energy efficiency of commercial buildings. In order to be certified, building operators and facility managers must demonstrate competence in facility electrical distribution; energy conservation; HVAC systems and controls; lighting; building energy codes; and indoor air quality.

Maranacook school district includes Readfield, Mount Vernon, Manchester and Wayne.
