LIVERMORE FALLS – Residents reported firewood, a bicycle and tools stolen within the last week.
Police also broke up a fight between two girls and turned a case of fire setting over to fire chief after warning children of trespassing.
A Pine Avenue man reported Sunday that a yellow Mongoose bicycle was stolen from his residence. While looking for that bike, he found a green Huffy bicycle in his yard and reported it to police.
A Route 17 resident reported firewood stolen from a construction site Wednesday, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. Trees cut into firewood during road construction were left for residents to take as firewood, he said.
A campground resident reported Wednesday a finish nail gun and some sockets stolen from an unlocked barn.
Police responded to a report of a young boy allegedly trying to set fire to the old high school on Church and Baldwin streets last Tuesday, the chief said. The fire was on a scarf, but there was no sign of fire on the building, he said. Police issued the three juveniles trespass warnings and turned the case over Fire Chief Ken Jones for follow-up with the children’s parents.
Officer Maurice Drouin broke up a fight between two females, 18 and 17, Wednesday night in the parking lot of Food City after one of the girls tried to get a shirt off the other girl.
She tried to tear it off her, Steward said. The girls were rolling on the ground fighting, he said, one of them received a bump on the left eye.
