1915 – 2003

AUBURN – Richard Wilson Damon, 88, of East Buckfield, died at an Auburn nursing home July 29.

He was born in Buckfield on May 15, 1915, the son of Wilson M. and Hazel L. (Keene) Damon.

He was educated in local schools and had worked in the woods logging most of his life, using a team of oxen and later his own horses. In later years he also picked apples for Cooper Orchards. He loved to go riding and go dancing.

He is survived by one brother, George of Auburn; four sisters, Gladys Newbegin of Warner, NH, Laura “Betty” Atkinson, Marjorie Gesner and Millie Newton all of Buckfield; and many nieces and nephews.
