PLYMOUTH, Mass. – Phillis A. Brown, 78, of Buckfield, died July 26, at Plymouth, Mass.

She was born in Dorchester, Mass., on Jan. 28, 1925, the daughter of Robert A. and Amy G. (Foan) (Bishop) Brown, was educated in Weymouth schools and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1942.

She had lived in Norwell, Weymouth, Dorchester and Hingham, Mass., most of her life before retiring to Hartford, in 1986.

She was a welder at the Hingham Shipyard during World War II and retired from Building #19 after 25 years service. She was an active member of the Weymouth Eagles Club and enjoyed cake decorating and crocheting. In 1946 she married William H. Brown, he died in 1995.

She is survived by one son, William R. Brown of Hartford; one daughter, Ruth Hatch of Plympton, Mass.; one half-sister, Martha Hallett of Tabb, Va.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
