OXFORD – Growing love, sprouting joy, planting peace, producing patience and picking kindness are what children will learn at the SonHarvest County Fair on Aug. 4-8 at the Oxford Advent Christian Church.

The Vacation Bible School program for all children, ages 4 to sixth-grade, will run daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church on Route 26.

“SonHarvest County Fair is a fun and exciting place where children learn to apply biblical teaching to their lives,” said Senior Pastor George Waterman.

Through the examples of Jesus and his parables, children will learn that the best way to grow is to know Jesus as their savior and to live as he wants them to live, organizer Laura Holbrook said. Children will sing, watch skits, create crafts and play games.

During their time at SonHarvest County Fair, children also will try their hand at real-life farm activities like corn shucking, wheelbarrow racing, making berry preserves and sprouting seeds. Each day they’ll create their own arts and crafts, and eat farm-fresh snacks. The last day, Aug. 8, at the Grandstand Revue closing program, children will perform their favorite SonHarvest songs for family and friends and show off their fair entries.

For registration and information, people can phone the church office at 743-7310.
