Everyone in Bethel, Hanover and Newry is invited.

BETHEL – Syndicated TV show “Inside Edition” will be covering their dump wedding, but David Hart and Rockie Graham are more interested in having their vows witnessed by all of their friends.

They’ve issued an open invitation “to all our friends and the residents of Bethel, Hanover and Newry” to join them in celebrating their wedding ceremony and reception.

The ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 1, Labor Day, at the Tri-town Transfer Station on Route 2 and 26 in Bethel. A reception will follow at the Newry Bear River Grange on Route 26 in Newry.

“No gifts please!” said Graham, an avid recycler who met Hart, the manager of the station, in the course of her routine trips to the station with recyclable items and trash. She now works part-time at the station.

“Having merged two households, and David repairing everything he finds, we already have at least two of everything,” she said.

Instead, the couple have been accepting donations of returnable bottles for their honeymoon fund. They plan to fly to California and drive back to Maine for their honeymoon, visiting family and friends along the way.

There’ll be a money tree and dances with the bride and groom at the reception to further the cause of their honeymoon plans. The reception will be a potluck supper, with music coordinated by Ross Timberlake.

Those wishing to help with the supper or volunteer with set-up can call Carole Timberlake at 824-6540. Anyone wishing to play music at the wedding or reception should contact Timberlake at 824-6546.
