1936 – 2003

PORTLAND – Richard Theodore White, 67, a long time resident of Summer Street, Lisbon Falls died early Friday, Aug. 1, at Maine Medical Center with his family at his side.

He was born in Durham, March 14, 1936, the son of Harvey W. and Nettie Getchell White and was educated in the schools of Durham.

Mr. White served in the U.S. Army during the late 1950’s and had been stationed overseas in Germany. On Sept. 23, 1959 he married the former April S. Hinxman in Brunswick.

Mr. White was employed for 39 years by Eastland Shoe Co. of both Freeport and Lisbon Falls and retired as a machinist in 2000. He was a member of the Pejepscot Snow Chiefs Snowmobile Club.

He enjoyed the interest of four wheeling, snowmobiling, Jeeping and tinkering. He enjoyed all of nature and very much liked spending time in the out of doors. He was a loving husband and family man of 44 years and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife of Lisbon Falls; three daughters, Mrs. David (Trudy M.) Bickford, Mrs. Darlene G. Brunick of Lisbon Falls and Mrs. Joseph (Shelly M.) Curtis of Lisbon Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Robert W. (Nolia) Washburn of Durham and Mrs. Elwin (Neota) Sherman of Litchfield; two brothers, Harvey White and his wife Barbara of Lisbon and Douglas White of Lisbon Falls; five grandchildren, Greg and Chris Waters, Chris Brunick, Jaclyn and Evan Curtis; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Norine Dupont and Naomi Morse; four brothers, Lorence, Wendell, John and Donald White.
