1914 – 2003

AUBURN – Violet E. Dussault, 89, formerly of 25 Sylvan Avenue Extension, Lewiston died Thursday, July 31, at the Clover Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in Lisbon, Jan. 12, 1914, the daughter of Alderic and Marianne (Levesque) Caron. She was a graduate of Lisbon High School and went on to get her nursing degree from St. Mary’s School of Nursing with the class of 1935. She did private duty at St. Mary’s Hospital and at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Togus.

She married Dr. Romeo Bernard on Aug. 16, 1946, he died March 3, 1959. She later married Albert Dussault on Dec. 30, 1961, he died July 13, 1982. She was a member of S.S. Peter & Paul Church, and the St. Mary’s Alumni. Her interests included antiques, traveling to Florida and around the state of Maine.

She is survived by a sister, Bernice Rosenblad of Worcester, Mass.; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Caron of Chesnee, S.C., and Jean Caron of Lisbon; two brothers-in-law, Maurice Gagnon of Lisbon and Lucien Dussault and wife Gennie of Auburn; a devoted cousin, Donald Dutil of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Frances Teddy Gagnon; and her brothers, Roger and Oliver.
